Epiphysiolysis capitis femoris (ECF), also referred to as juvenile femoral head slippage, is an orthopedic condition in which the femoral head slips along the growth plate (epiphyseal plate) of the femur. This condition typically occurs in adolescents during the growth phase and affects boys more often than girls. It is one of the most common hip disorders during puberty and requires early diagnosis and treatment to avoid long-term complications.
